What is the Amscot MoneyCard and where can it be used?
The Amscot MoneyCard is a prepaid debit card that can be used to shop online, pay bills and make everyday purchases. It is accepted worldwide, anywhere Debit Mastercard is accepted. The card can be reloaded by direct deposit or with cash at any Amscot Branch. With the Amscot MoneyCard there is no minimum balance or risk of overdraft fees.

Is the Amscot MoneyCard a credit card?
No, the Amscot MoneyCard is a prepaid debit card. It stores value of the dollar amount you choose to load and maintain on the card.

What do I need to provide to get an Amscot MoneyCard?
You will need to bring a valid government issued photo ID and provide your name, street address, date of birth and other information that will allow us to identify you.

What is the minimum age to get an Amscot MoneyCard?
You must be at least 13 years old.

Where can I get an Amscot MoneyCard?
The Amscot MoneyCard is available exclusively at any Amscot Branch.

What is the temporary card and where can I use it?
When you purchase an Amscot MoneyCard you will receive a temporary card in your choice of one of our 6 card designs. The temporary card can be used at most merchants that accept Debit Mastercard until you receive your personalized card in the mail.

Can I enroll in direct deposit before I receive my personalized card?
Yes, when you receive your temporary card you will also receive a direct deposit form. You can setup direct deposit immediately. Once you activate your personalized card, all of the funds will automatically transfer over from your temporary card and any direct deposits received after the activation will post to your personalized card.

Generally you will receive your personalized card within 7-10 business days.

How do I enroll in direct deposit?
Having your paycheck or government benefits direct deposited to your card is easy! Simply provide your payroll or benefits office with your routing and account number. You can get these numbers by logging in to your card account, visiting any Amscot Branch, or by calling 1-866-532-9623 to speak with our live customer support.

Can I have my tax refund direct deposited to my Amscot MoneyCard?
Yes, simply enter your card’s routing and account number in the space provided on your tax form.

What happens if my Amscot MoneyCard is lost or stolen?
Immediately report a lost, stolen or damaged card by calling 1-866-532-9623. If your card is lost or stolen you may obtain a replacement card for $2.95 and a replacement card will be issued by mail. Any available balance will be transferred to the new card. The Amscot MoneyCard provides 24 hour automated support for your assistance.

Card Account Closure Fee $15.00 A check will be mailed with the remaining balance. Processing will take 30-45 days. This fee can be avoided by spending the remaining balance on your card and contacting Customer Service to close the card account for no fee.

Your funds are eligible for deposit insurance up to the applicable limits by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (“FDIC”). Your funds will be held at Pathward, N.A. or placed by Pathward as custodian at one or more participating FDIC-insured banks (each a “Program Bank”). In the event the FDIC were to be appointed as a receiver for Pathward or a Program Bank, your funds, aggregated with any other funds you have on deposit at such institution, would be eligible to be insured up to $250,000 for each legal category of account ownership, subject to compliance with FDIC deposit insurance requirements.
